Vector borne diseases (VBDs) have not only adversely affected the health of the people but also impeded overall socioeconomic development. Some of these diseases are fatal if not treated, while others cause morbidity and few diseases can even leave patients disfigured and disabled. Eighty percent of world’s population is at risk of one or more VBDs. These diseases account for 17% of the estimated global burden of all infectious diseases. Over 700,000 deaths are caused by VBDs.
